Dr. Moore is an Interim Dean and Founding Faculty of the School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies (SASS), Labrador Campus of Memorial University, and the Vice-Lead of UArctic’s Verdde Thematic Network. As an educator for over 34 years, Dr. Moore has played key leadership roles in Indigenous-led education in Labrador and across the North. Her community-led research and pedagogies are developed in response to the expressed needs and priorities of Indigenous communities and governments. Dr. Moore promotes Indigenous voices and cultures in all aspects of
her work, builds capacity, and mentors emerging scholars. Both her research and her pedagogical approaches contribute to Indigenous self-determination, Indigenous wellness, and the decolonization and Indigenization of education. Dr. Moore is a committed researcher, whose work in Indigenous education and decolonizing pedagogies has been published and presented widely. She has published 11 journal articles, four book chapters, and a popular and award-winning book, Trickster Chases the Tale of Education. She has given over 63 talks and conference presentations and shares her work nationally and internationally.
