Norwegian Government reiterates support for UArctic
Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Støre expressed his government's continued support for UArctic in a speech he gave at a Standing Committee of Parliamantarians of the Arctic Region meeting in Oslo on November 22.
In his speech to the Chair of the Conference of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region, Hill-Marta Solberg, the Minister of Foreign Affairs talked about UArctic as providing "a unique opportunity for developing knowledge in the circumpolar north through cooperation and exchanges of students and teachers."
He also added that the Norwegian Government - which holds the Arctic Council Chairmanship for the next two years - would continue to provide financial support UArctic, as a main priority of the Conference and the Arctic Council.
