Arctic Frontiers Conference to take place in Tromsø in January 2007
The Arctic Frontiers conference, on the theme of Balancing Human Use and Ecosystem Protection, will take place in Tromsø, Norway, from January 21-26, 2007.
The conference will focus simultaneously on the development potential facing the Arctic region and the environmental challenges it presents. As such, it will be a prime venue for stakeholders with interest in circumpolar issues. The themes of the socioeconomic programme have attracted speakers from Russia, the European Union, the United States, Canada and Norway, including politicians, academics and NGO representatives. Over 500 participants are expected for the six-day event.
