TN on Global Change in the Arctic continues to develop
The work of the global change curriculum is continuing with the new funding granted by the Nordic Council of Ministers in January 18th. This funding, 400 000 DKK, will be used for curriculum development, which started a year ago also with NCM funding and is now continuing with the actual online course planning in the Master’s level.
The call for finding the Global Change in the Arctic course writers, which was open early this year, resulted in applications mainly from the Universities in Northern America and only few from Russian and Scandinavia .
The applicants are currently being evaluated by the steering committee members of the TN on Global Change in the Arctic and the decisions will be made in February 16 – 18, 2007 in a joint meeting with BCS Advanced Emphasis on Arctic Climate Change and Thematic Network on Global Change, where the TN global change steering committee will also meet.
In the joint meeting in Kautokeino both BCS Advanced Emphasis on Arctic Climate Change and Thematic Network on Global Change curriculum planning are continuing and course contents will be discussed in more detailed.
