The Canada-France Ground Freezing Project is an international project launched in 1981 and which comprised of six frost-heave test cycles on a buried chilled pipeline. Among others important findings, it highlighted the significant challenges of constructing and operating a gas pipeline in a permafrost-affected terrain.
 
Six databases containing raw data sets for each of the ground freezing experiments and an accompanying resource library consisting of a fourteen-volume set of reports have been produced.

A portion of the sales from these databases will be used to fund an endowment for a northern research scholarship at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
