Iceland to host conference on Arctic development and maritime transportation
Akureyri, Iceland, will be the host of the Breaking the Ice conference on Arctic development and maritime transportation on March 27 and 28, 2007.
The conference, under the theme Prospects of the Transarctic Route - Impacts and Opportunities, is organized as a contribution to the Arctic's Council Arctic Marine Shipping Assessment.
It will bring together Arctic researchers from all over the Circumpolar North and feature sessions on subjects such as ice monitoring and ice decrease, navigation through ice, emergency prevention and reaction, transarctic shipping and transportation trends.
