From October 5th through 9th 2009, people over the whole world will be informed about the local relevance of urgent physical, ecological and social changes occurring in the polar regions of our planet. The Polar Weeks are an initiative from the IPY International Programme Office (IPO) and a second one is planned in March 2010.
Karen Edwards from the IPY IPO and Jenny Baeseman from the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) have a special request for all interested parties to join in and help turn these weeks into a success, whether it is through lectures, live web or radio events or by acting as a media contact. For more details and suggestions for activities please read their full requests HERE.
