The indigenous peoples of the world met at the summit "Rio +20"

Sustainable Development "Rio +20" was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from June 20-22, 2012. At the summit, world leaders met to
discuss the problem of "green" economy, sustainable development and

Exactly 20 years ago, in 1992, Brazil hosted the first such meeting, which was called the "Earth Summit." A joint plan was adopted to fight poverty and protect the environment in the 21st century - "Agenda 21." Also, 1992 was an important milestone in the international activities of the indigenous peoples who have joined forces to fight for their rights.Through this work, a decade later, the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues began its work, and saw the adoption of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in 2007.
