New director at Umeå University's CeSam
From May 1, 2013, professor
Patrik Lantto will assume the role of Director of the Centre for Sami
Research (CeSam) – Vaartoe, at Umeå University, as his predecessor,
professor Peter Sköld, will step down to focus solely
on his role as Director of Arcum, the Arctic Research Centre at Umeå
University. Lantto has worked at CeSam since 2007, and has in his
research mainly focused on the political mobilization of the Sami in
Sweden and Swedish Sami policy, as well as Sami educational
history.”
