School for Young Leaders-2015 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

Representatives of indigenous peoples took part in the project "School for Young Leaders-2015". Young people from six districts of Sakhalin arrived in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to gain leadership skills. This experience will help in their future social activities aimed at protection of indigenous peoples’ interests and rights.

The school opening was held on August 9, the International Day of World's Indigenous Peoples. This project is implemented within the framework of public-private partnership with the company "Sakhalin Energy" for the third year.

Joseph Shtitelman and Natalia Chekhovskaya, the invited teachers from Vladivostok have big experience in conducting trainings on leadership development. The school participants will learn more about the types of leaders, discuss how to cultivate leadership qualities, to grow spiritually, physically and emotionally, and much more. In addition, young leaders are offered to study indigenous low of the federal and regional level, relevant for indigenous peoples and ethnic groups.

The School for Young Leaders will work until August 13. At the end of the project all participants will be awarded with certificates.
