Call for papers: IV Kant and Bakhtin International Seminar "Imaginary and real worlds and their borders"
The IV Kant and Bakhtin International Seminar "Imaginary and real worlds and their borders" takes place on 16-17 March 2016 in Murmansk, Russia. Deadline for submitting applications for the seminar is 5 March 2016, and for submitting articles 31 May 2016.
Main scientific directions of the seminar:
- Imagining borders and the borders of the imagined
- The worlds of values and their parameters
- Images of the borders and their construction in modern culture
- “One’s own” world and incursion of the Other in the context of modern global challenges
- Migration of people and migration of ideas
- “The Clash of Civilizations”: a prophecy that is fulfilling itself?
- Crisis of Multiculturalism Philosophy
- Arctic identity in the context of imagining borders
The seminar is organized by the Murmansk Branch of the Russian Philosophical Society, Murmansk Arctic State University and Nord University (Bodo, Norway).
