Call for the V International Arctic Legal Forum in Saint-Petersburg
The V International Arctic Legal Forum "Protection and Sustainable Development of The Arctic: Legal Aspects" will be organized by the Government of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug together with the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation November 29th - December 2nd. Legal experts and all intertested in the Forum topics discussion are invited to take part in this event.
The 2017 Arctic Legal Forum will particularly address such problems as existing gaps in the legal framework regarding the rights of nomad and part-nomad indigenous peoples; importance of efficient resourse management; environmental protection and vital role of youth in the Arctic future development. The following sessions will be organized within the Forum:
- Society, ecology and law in high latitudes
- The modern model of public resource management on the Arctic territories: problems and perspectives
- The needs of a business – competence of youth
- Arctic region in the light of international law
