The Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit will gather the leading academic experts, policy-makers, indigenous peoples, city representatives, officials and students to discuss sustainable development related to the Arctic and to reflect on the current state of Arctic cooperation. The main focus is on how to bring the UN Sustainable Development Goals to Arctic science, policy and economy.
The conference will be held in the beginning of the Finland's chairmanship of the Arctic Council and it is part of the official program of the centenary year of Finnish independence. Please also note the Polar Law Symposium, which will be held during the Conference week in Rovaniemi, 13-14 November 2017 at the Arktikum House.
