Call for Proposals: 2018 Assembly Breakout Sessions

The Arctic Circle Secretariat is now accepting proposals for Breakout Sessions at the Arctic Circle Assembly to be held October 19-21, 2018, in Reykjavík, Iceland. Submissions will be accepted until 25 May, 2018.

The annual Arctic Circle Assembly is the largest annual international gathering on the Arctic, attended by more than 2000 participants from 50 countries. The Assembly is held every October at the Harpa Conference Center and Concert Hall in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is attended by heads of states and governments, ministers, members of parliaments, officials, experts, scientists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, indigenous representatives, environmentalists, students, activists and others from the growing international community of partners and participants interested in the future of the Arctic.

Criteria:

  • Governments, institutions, organizations, universities, think tanks, companies and other such bodies are eligible to submit proposals. Individuals may not submit proposals without institutional affiliation / support.
  • Proposals must indicate the session topic's relevance to Arctic dialogue. Proposals must indicate how each session contribution to increased knowledge, discussion or awareness of Arctic issues.
  • Diversity among speaker backgrounds, affiliations and nationality is encouraged
