Postdoc position on UAA in Health Sciences and Circumpolar Health Studies
The University of Alaska Anchorage invites applications for the position of Multicultural Postdoctoral Fellow that can provide multicultural perspective to teaching and research within the Department of Health Sciences (DHS) and the Institute for Circumpolar Health Studies (ICHS). This position will begin in August 2018 and will be located in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Multicultural Postdoctoral Fellow will teach one class per semester in either the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences Program or Master of Public Health Program. The Fellow will have the opportunity to work with faculty mentors within DHS and ICHS on one or more ongoing research projects and may also develop his or her own research agenda related to health concerns of Alaska Native people, other minorities, and multicultural populations. The Fellow will participate in departmental activities related to curriculum development, student recruitment, student success, or community outreach, and will mentor students with similar research interests.
Research interests should include population health challenges such as behavioral and mental health concerns, chronic disease, trauma, suicide, or other health conditions that show significant disparities across cultural groups in Alaska.
