Conference program includes workshops, two interesting keynotes and more to come. The first keynote speaker is Klemetti Näkkäläjärvi who is a Senior Researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences at University of Lapland. He is also a former president of the Finnish Sami Parliament. The second keynote speaker is Professor Mirja Satka from University of Helsinki, who will give a speech titled “The challenges of Social work education in the transition of the Nordic welfare State”.
Abstract submissions
The theme of the conference is: “Challenges in Arctic Social Work”. There are two topics linked to this theme:
1. Environmental change and their consequences for people in the Arctic
2. The challenges for indigenous people.
It is also possible for participants to present papers on other topics, like educational matters and international or professional cooperation within the Arctic. There will be three workshops. Two of them will carry the titles of these two topics. The third will focus on educational and professional topics.
Deadline for abstract submissions is on September 30, 2018. Registration is already open and it will close on October 31.
