The appointment is for one year and is renewable for up to three years, subject to satisfactory performance and funding.
The university is seeking a scholar who aspires to be both an independent investigator and team scientist and is interested in behavioral science, public health, and/or applied health promotion research.
The post-doctoral fellow will join the Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services (CBHRS) team (https://iseralaska.org/cbhrs/), and work closely with faculty on existing grants and proposal development, as well as develop their own externally funded research. The multidisciplinary research team explores research questions on a broad range of health and wellness-related topics that support an overarching goal of promoting improved physical and mental health.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous research experience, a foundation in social and behavioral theories, experience in applied quantitative and qualitative methods and analyses, and interest in research questions relevant to promoting population health through multi-level prevention and health promotion interventions.
Responsibilities include
- engaging in high quality research that leads to publications in top journals, and
- working collaboratively on research projects with CBHRS and others within ISER.
Support and mentorship will be provided to foster the applicant's own extramurally funded research.
To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally authorized for unrestricted employment in the United States, and hold a doctoral degree in a related discipline. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
