TN on Critical Arctic Studies: Arctic self-portraits
Thematic Network on Critical Arctic Studies invites colleagues to submit photos that represent the Arctic, "Arctic sef-portraits".
The visual representation of the Arctic is a tricky business due to its social, cultural, political and economic diversity. Therefore, we invite our colleagues to submit photos that represent the Arctic but not in the most conventional way as icy and empty natural landscapes. The photos may represent yourself and others in different situations, but also relations to diverse objects and living things, events and whatever comes to your mind when you think about the topic ”Arctic self-portraits”.
Submitted photos will be included into our website (criticalarcticstudies.com) as a gallery of photos. Some of them (with permission) will be used to develop the visual look of the UArctic TN CAS website.
Please send your photos by the end of October 2022 to our webmaster Sanna Kopra (sanna.kopra@ulapland.fi). The submission should also include basic information about you (contact information) and about the photo (location, situation, time).
