Seminar announcement: ANILCA Training
UArctic member Institute of the North is facilitating online ANILCA training (Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act of 1980).
Through ANILCA, Congress designated new national parklands, wildlife refuges, wilderness areas, and other conservation lands in Alaska; for a total of 139 million acres (more than one third of the state).
The training objective is to seek a greater understanding of the legislation and its influence on conservation policy, business opportunities, Alaska residents’ way of life, resource development, and public land management in Alaska.
The ANILCA November 2022 training will take place online, via Zoom, daily from 8:30 a.m. – 1p.m. Alaska Standard Time, from Tuesday, November 15 through Friday, November 18.
