Apply to study in the Polar Law Master's programme in Iceland

University of Akureyri is accepting applications for the international Polar Law programme.

Applications for the Polar Law programme at University of Akureyri are open from and until 1 April. Enrolments for the programme take place every second year.

The Polar Law programme concerns itself with current judicial systems in the Arctic and Antarctic regions. The programme is cross-disciplinary, emphasising relevant aspects of international law and social sciences. Students are introduced to international legal frameworks, including the law of the sea, environmental law and indigenous rights. Studies in polar law focus on how people, environment and resources are administered in the Arctic region, general principles of economic development and good governance.

The programme places special emphasis on international co-operation with other universities. It is a general pre-requisite that applicants have completed a BA/BS degree at recognised foreign universities in a comparable field of study.
