The workshop will include online talks. The overarching aims of this interdisciplinary workshop are to discuss HLD field measurements, monitoring of dust and HLD sources, role of permafrost in HLD research, long-range transport of HLD as well as of low latitude dust towards the Arctic with related climate impacts, role of aerosols in high latitude environments, and global dust and HLD networks.

There will be a unique opportunity to attend the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) User engagement session in Iceland with experts on aerosol monitoring and modeling from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), World Meteorological Organization Sand and Dust Storm Warning Advisory and Assessment System (WMO SDS WAS) and Finish Meteorological Institute (FMI).
