Nuuk/Iqaluit exchange and Inunnguiniq workshop
UArctic financially supported the project “The first thousand days of Inuit children in the Arctic” under the Thematic Network on Health and Well-being in the Arctic. In August 2024 a midwife, a public health nurse, four policy makers and two researchers from Nuuk travelled to Iqaluit to attend the Inuunguiniq workshop.
The workshop was offered by Qaujigiartiit Health Research Center. The aim of the project was to strengthen collaboration between Greenland and Nunavut, and to provide an opportunity for people to connect and learn from each other.
Many special connections were made and participants from Nuuk describe how the workshop has affected them positively as a person and that it will have a great influence on their work. The group is already planning on how we can build on these experiences and knowledges received, and how we can apply for funding to invite the Qaujigiartiit team to Nuuk.
