We offer the first interdisciplinary and community-oriented master’s course: Permafrost in Arctic Societies (10 ECTS), held at the DTU Arctic campus in Sisimiut in Western Greenland (66 N)!
Who is it for?
The course is designed for engineering and geoscience master students and offers insights from the permafrost-related disciplines of physical geography, geotechnical engineering and Arctic social sciences. All interested engineering or geoscience students can apply.
What will you learn?
Students will gain an understanding of thawing permafrost and its effects on Arctic communities, through a combination of fieldwork, lectures, labwork, mapping exercises, and interaction with local stakeholders and communities - blending theory, practice, and project-based learning.
