New Master's Degree Program in Geopolitical Analysis

SIOI and LUMSA – Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta organize the first-level University Master's Degree in Geopolitical Analysis, which will take place in blended mode from 4 December 2025.

Purpose and content

The course aims to train highly qualified specialists and professionals who have the cognitive and methodological elements necessary for the analysis and interpretation of international scenarios, with particular reference to situations deriving from alliances, geopolitical and geo-economic rivalries, crises, conflicts, technological transformation and global risks.

Professional

Profile expert in the interpretation and geopolitical analysis of international scenarios with specialized skills on the following aspects: international competition; globalization and de-globalization, de-risking, decoupling, re-shoring; challenges to the security of States: collection of information and data, scenario analysis models and interpretation of trends; the current dimensions of conflicts: hybrid and asymmetrical wars, deterrence and nuclear threat, new forms of aggression, the role of Social Media and AI, cybercrime.

 

Candidates

The course is dedicated to graduates of all disciplines who wish to deepen the topic of geopolitical analysis, whose relevance as a tool for understanding the international context and governance in the political and economic fields is increasingly evident in numerous professional fields such as those of public officials, operators and consultants in the international, humanitarian, economic and financial institutions, companies, journalists, staff of public and private research institutions and institutional relations officers.

Requirements bachelor's degree, master's degree or master's degree or Degree before Ministerial Decree 509/1999 (old system) or other university qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable.

 

Total hours of training divided as follows:
Lectures: 276 hours
Seminars/Exercises: 34 hours
Internship: optional
Self-study: 1070 hours
Mid-term exams: Final
thesis: 120 hours
Total 1,500 hours (12 months)
Teaching methods: blended
Language of delivery: Italian

December 2025 – November 2026

Opening hours
Thursday from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm
Friday from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm
Saturday from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm

Some lessons will be carried out through the Zoom Workplace and Google Meet platforms in synchronous mode.

The program will be activated upon reaching the minimum number of participants.
