The webinars are organized by the Arctic Waste Forum as a part of NOWA – Nordic Waste Management Vision project, in cooperation between Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian waste management professionals, operators and innovators.

In the face of evolving environmental regulations, material recovery challenges, and the push toward circularity, the Nordic waste sector is undergoing transformation. This two-part webinar series brings together key insights from industry pilots, legal framework, and market data to explore how waste management companies, municipalities, and policymakers can navigate the complex landscape, and what can Arctic Waste Forum do in the future to make working in and around the Arctic Waste Sector easier and more sustainable for all.

Webinar 1, Materials, Methods & Mandates, dives into the operational and regulatory dimensions of waste handling, with a focus on fly ash and food waste, legal waste reporting, and real-world piloting done by Kiertokaari Ltd in Oulu, Finland. Participants will gain a practical understanding of how waste companies are innovating in response to environmental demands and compliance requirements.

Webinar 2, Benchmarking, Pilots & Plastics, shifts the lens to the broader market context, offering a Nordic waste market overview, benchmarking insights, and a spotlight on plastic waste challenges. The session also introduces the piloting work of Hauru's Jäteauto Ltd in Oulu, Finland.

Together, these webinars provide a comprehensive view of the Arctic waste sector in the Interreg Aurora Area.
