"Thanks to UArctic funding I was able to attend Arctic Youth Conference 2025. I was able to see the conference I helped plan come to life, develop my public speaking skills by speaking during a plenary session, and make many meaningful connections with young leaders from across the Arctic.

I was involved in the early planning of the conference so it was really exciting to see the ideas that I had helped propose come to life. I also was asked to speak at the Building Resilience: Youth Preparedness for Arctic Challenges plenary session. The panel focused on how Arctic youth can lead their communities in facing the challenges of climate change and was a great opportunity for me to get public speaking experience while speaking about something I care deeply about.

Throughout the week I was also able to make many meaningful connections with other young leaders from across the Arctic. As a young leader interested in Indigenous governance these connections will go a long way in helping me be a better leader in my community."
