Call for Papers: India's Legal Approach to Polar Regions
Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) is accepting papers for an edited book, seeking contributions from interested stakeholders including polar scientists, legal policy-makers, and researchers. Submission deadline: March 17.
Submissions addressing the following broad themes are welcome:
- India’s polar legal framework and strategic engagement.
- Legal compliance related to the scientific research and technological contributions in the polar regions.
- Preparedness through legal and scientific processes towards climate change, environmental impact assessments and cooperation.
- Outlook on sustainable policies for effective economic and developmental activities in polar regions.
- Multilateral governance mechanism and international cooperation for scientific diplomacy.
- Advancements in polar security legal framework and geopolitics.
- Dissemination of knowledge related to polar science and law through capacity building.
Submission Guidelines
- Abstracts must be submitted through registrations and must be in ‘English’.
- Abstract title – limited to 10-15 words. Title must appear in upper and lower case (e.g. India’s legal approach to polar regions).
- Affiliation and authors information. Maximum 2-3 authors. You must enter the name of all authors, including yourself in an order in which you wish it to appear in the printed text.
- Abstract should be 250 – 300 words.
- The editor(s) have inherent right to publish your submission on electronic media and in hardcopy if it is accepted.
- Papers should be original and not published elsewhere.
- Manuscripts must be formatted in 4th edition of OSCOLA citation style and submitted in Word document format.
Types of submissions:
A) Opinion-ed: 800 – 1,000 words
B) Book Review: 1,000 – 1,500 words
C) Article: 2,000 – 2,500 words
D) Research Paper: 3,000 – 4,000 words
E) Extensive Research Paper: 8,000 – 10,000 words
Timeline:
- Abstract Submission Deadline: March 17, 2025
- Notification of Acceptance: March 21, 2025
- Full Paper Submission Deadline: May 05, 2025
Submission Process: Submit abstracts (Registration page) and full papers at [polar.sec@rru.ac.in]. All submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
