Arctic Inspiration Prize Letter of Intent and Inspiration
Nominations for the Arctic Inspiration Prize are open and the proposal due dates are approaching.
The Arctic Inspiration Prize (AIP) is the largest annual prize in Canada that inspires, enables and celebrates the achievements of the people of the North. The AIP recognizes diverse teams and enables their innovative projects in the fields of education, health and wellbeing, culture, arts and language, science and traditional knowledge, climate change and the economy. Each year, the AIP awards up to $3.7 million: one $1 million prize, up to four prizes of up to $500,000 each, and up to seven youth prizes of up to $100,000 each. The AIP is owned and governed by the northern-led AIP Charitable Trust and is a community of Indigenous organizations, governments, industry, philanthropy, and many other partners from the North and South.
Key Dates:
- September 2, 2025 – Nominations open
- October 20, 2025 –Letters of Intent/Inspiration Proposals due
- January 19, 2026 – Nominations due
- May 2026 – Winners celebrated at the AIP Ceremony in Whitehorse, Yukon
Three Prize Categories:
- $1 million for one exceptional team project
- Up to $500,000 for four large-scale initiatives
- Up to $100,000 for up to seven Youth teams
How to Get Started

- Review the nomination guides
- Submit a Letter of Intent / Inspiration Proposal by October 20 (optional, but highly recommended)
- Find an AIP Ambassador/Nominator to support your project
- Download nomination materials and complete your submission before January 19
