Thematic Network on Northern and Arctic Island Studies Research Leads Discussion on Northern Islands' Future

In a significant collaboration, the Northern and Arctic Island Studies Research (NAISR) UArctic Thematic Network partnered with the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) Institute for Northern Studies Island Hub to host the inaugural interdisciplinary online symposium, "The Future of Northern and Arctic Islands: 2050 and Beyond."

The event, which drew 78 delegates, was a powerful testament to the network's mission of supporting Northern and Arctic island communities.

The symposium served as a crucial platform for international experts to address the complex transformations sweeping through the region. Speakers led discussions on pressing issues, from geopolitical challenges to the preservation of culture and heritage, highlighting the network's commitment to fostering a sustainable future.
