Arctic Horizon Scan 2022

The Oxford University Polar Forum, is are organising the Arctic Horizon Scan 2022, a collaborative effort to identify research priorities for the Arctic that will be important over the next decade.

The webpages have now been published for the four new Thematic Networks, which were approved by the UArctic Assembly in the meeting held on 1-3 June, 2022 in Portland, Maine.   


The Korea Arctic Academy, hosted by the Korean Ministry of Oceans & Fisheries and co-organized by the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) and University of the Arctic (UArctic), is an initiative to facilitate exchanges between students from both the Arctic region and Korea in order to develop and share a common Arctic vision.

The new UNIS boat is baptized

On World’s Ocean Day 8 June, UNIS’ new research boat, Hanna Resvoll, was baptized in Longyearbyen. The boat is named after the first female researcher on Svalbard, Hanna Resvoll-Holmsen, Norway’s first environmentalist. 



EU-PolarNet 2 has as a general goal to generate a platform for the development of strategies that allow progress in a European Action for Polar Research and its contribution to the process of build European policies in this field.
