Lapland University of Applied Sciences

Come with me, I'm fired up with a cool head!

I was born on January 1, 2014 from Kemi-Tornio and Rovaniemi Universities of Applied Sciences.

They don’t exist any longer, but all the know-how continues in me.

All you have is me, but I have the Northern Factor.

I will develop, study and learn new things with you. Together we refine expertise and vitality from the strengths and opportunities of the North to  meet the needs of people and organisations.

Lapland University of Applied Sciences is the northernmost higher professional education institution in the European Union. It is located in the cities of Rovaniemi, Kemi and Tornio in Finnish Lapland.

Lapland UAS offers many fields of study, and studying and teaching make good use of the learning environments offered by nature in the North. Northernness is for us an opportunity to specialise, also internationally. Our primary mission is to support and steer Lapland’s development and ensure the wellness of the region’s people. We take into consideration the demands of the Lappish lifestyle and the special needs of business activity in the North in both our education and our research and development activities.

One of our distinctive characteristics is internationality, which includes active student mobility and effective partnerships. The operational languages of Lapland UAS's education and services are Finnish and English; three degree programmes are offered entirely in English. All of our student services and student housing are also close by.
