Arctic Geology field trip took place in Russia, summer 2015

The fieldtrip of students from the Arctic University of Norway (UiT), University of Tromsø, headed by prof. Kare Kullerud with assistance by Anna Pryadunenko to South Verkhoyansk was held from June 28 till July 11, 2015. The field trip was organised by the Thematic Network on Arctic Geology.
The Tromsø University team was guided by colleagues from St. Petersburg State University headed by prof. Andrei Khudoley with logistics organized by North-East Federal University (Yakutsk). Artem Moiseev (Geological Institute RAS, Moscow) also participated in the trip.
During fieldtrip passive margin succession represented by Ordovician to Jurassic sedimentary rocks cut by rift-related Devonian and younger dykes and folded and faulted in Mesozoic was studied (picture below).
