New Thematic Network to foster international research cooperation related to migration in the Arctic
The new UArctic Thematic Network on Arctic Migration focuses on newfound problems and challenges in the field of migration alongside of the already existing ones. The overall objective is to establish and build an international network of scholars, experts, influencers and policy makers to solve the challenges and problems related to migration in the Arctic.
The Thematic Network organizes series of workshops, seminars and conferences to share and disseminate knowledge. The new network is one of the seven new Thematic Networks of UArctic, and it will be hosted by the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland together with the University of Akureyri and UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
At the moment the Thematic Network consists of 34 researchers from recognized universities, institutions and organizations of Arctic and non-Arctic countries, e.g. Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Estonia, Canada, United Kingdom, Austria, Poland, America, France, Japan and Germany. All interested researchers, organizations and institutes are welcome to be a part of the network.
