The course focused on the different learning from the Arctic communities in handling the epidemic on different levels, presented different research projects as well as methodologies, and discussed different opportunities and strategies for collaboration, sharing resources and knowledge, and engaging the communities across the Arctic regions.

After years with COVID-19 we have developed a successful hybrid format but compared to the past two years most students were able to participate in person in the auditorium of the Pikialaarfik building in Nuuk. Participants came from Greenland, UK, Denmark, Norway, Canada, and Alaska (US). The course was held in connection with the NUNAMED 2022 conference in Nuuk. NUNAMED is a 3-day long conference for all researchers and health care personel with an interest in Greenlandic and Arctic Health Research and all participants from the course who were in Nuuk also participated in NUNAMED.

The PhD course is an activity under the UArctic Thematic Network on Health and Well-being in the Arctic. For more information on the Thematic Network, contact: Gert Mulvad, E-mail: gm@peqqik.gl.
