Job opportunity: Assistant Professor of Sustainability at Rochester Institute of Technology, NY

Particular emphasis is placed on research in the fields of circular economy, sustainable manufacturing, recycling/material recovery, food systems/organic waste, environmental/sustainability policy, social and behavioral aspects of sustainability, and applications of AI and machine learning in sustainability science.

The Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY is searching for an Assistant Professor of Sustainability at the Golisano Institute for Sustainability (GIS) to start in fall 2023. They are particularly looking for candidates whose research activities would complement and ideally collaborate with existing faculty members but not duplicate or strongly overlap existing research areas.

The teaching requirements are two classes a year: one core course for MS/PhD programs (Fundamentals of Sustainability Science, Industrial Ecology, Risk Analysis, Economics of Sustainability, Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis, or Technology, Policy and Sustainability) and one departmental elective. The candidate is expected to bring in external research funding to support PhD students.
