Funding opportunities: U.S. Permafrost Association fall funding grants and awards

The U.S. Permafrost Association (USPA) invites applications for several funding grants and awards with the application deadline closing on October 23.

The following grants and awards are included in this call for applications:

AGU 2024 Travel Grants:

  • AGU 2024 Travel Grant from the Permafrost Engineering Education Program (PEEP)
    • Amount: up to 3 awards, $500 each
    • Eligibility: Students and early career professionals in engineering
  • AGU 2024 Travel Grant from the USPA-PYRN Educational Fund (UPEF)
    • Amount: up to 3 awards, $500 each
    • Eligibility: Students in permafrost science
  • Andrew Slater Memorial Award
    • Amount: 1 award, $500
    • Eligibility: Graduate students and postdocs in permafrost modeling

Other Awards:

  • Family Care Program Caregiver Award (applications for winter- spring fieldwork also accepted)
    • Amount: up to 2 awards, $500 each
    • Eligibility: Caregivers (elder, child, etc.)
  • Erwin "Erv" Long Memorial Award
    • Amount: 1 award, $3000
    • Eligibility: Undergraduate and graduate students in permafrost engineering
