Thematic Network on Social Work Releases New Newsletter Highlighting UArctic Congress Participation
The Thematic Network on Social Work has published its first newsletter of 2026, presenting recent activities, upcoming initiatives, and collaboration opportunities across the Arctic.
The issue also marks the network’s 20th anniversary, recognizing two decades of cooperation in strengthening social work education, research, and practice in the region.
A key feature of this edition is the network’s active participation in the UArctic Congress 2026 in the Faroe Islands, on May 26-29. During the Congress, the network facilitated a dedicated workshop on “Decolonizing Academia through Social Work” on 27 May 2026. The session brought together engaged participants and generated discussions that will contribute to ongoing research and future cooperation among partner institutions.
