The project Strengthening Arctic Health Networks through Partnerships and Mentorship (2023–2027) was launched to deepen collaboration across circumpolar health networks and support emerging scholars in the field. Funded twice through the UArctic Danish call, the initiative brings together a diverse group of partners — including universities, institutions, and Indigenous organizations — all working to improve health and well-being in the Arctic.
For TNHW, key outcomes include the development of a mentorship program rooted in inclusive and culturally relevant principles, and the introduction of biannual online membership meetings to foster dialogue, share updates, and strengthen member engagement. These efforts reflect a broader ambition to build a more connected, responsive, and community-engaged network.
The project is led by Professor Christina VL Larsen, whose longstanding involvement in Arctic health research and networks has helped anchor the initiative in both academic and community contexts.
TNHW also maintains close collaboration with other Thematic Networks, such as Working in the Arctic, Ageing and Gender in the Arctic, Social Work, and Northern Nursing Education.
