Cold Climate Housing Research Center

Promoting and advancing the development of healthy, durable, and sustainable shelter for Alaskans and other circumpolar people. The Cold Climate Housing Research Center (CCHRC) is working on more than 50 projects throughout the state, including sustainable design, building science research, policy analysis, and consulting with homeowners and contractors. With more than two dozen funding partners, the research center manages approximately $3 million in activities a year. We have roughly 100 members, ranging from major international corporations to homegrown Alaska businesses.
