Position announcement: Canada Research Chair (Tier II) in Arctic and Subarctic Peoples and Places

The School of Arctic and Subarctic Studies at the Labrador Campus of Memorial University invites applications to be considered for a tenure-track SSHRC-funded Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Arctic and Subarctic Peoples and Places.

This position is for an early-career Indigenous researcher at either the Assistant or Associate level. 

Areas of potential foci for the Chair include, but are not limited to:
• human dimensions of climate and environmental change, and effects on individuals and communities;
• community and individual wellness, and healing;
• culture and language preservation, promotion, and reclamation;
• food systems, food sovereignty, and food security, including Northern agriculture;
• Indigenous, land-based, and/or placed-based education and pedagogies;
• cultural, marine, and terrestrial resources management and human-nature connections;
• resource development and communities;
• archaeology, heritage, history, and culture; and
• Indigenous law, governance, relations, and self-determination.
